Where are Zid Zid Kids products made?
As the designers, we decided to produce our entire product line right here where we live in Marrakech, Morocco. Nothing we do is factory made but handmade and our products are made in a small workshop comprised of a dedicated team of about 30 men and women. We source all the materials, fabrics, leather, and filling locally as well.
Why do I see differences in products? Why are some products not the same?
Our product is not a factory made one, but a people made one. Due to the high hand made aspect of our products, no two products are alike. We see this as a plus and as a company; we embrace the differences found as this is the art of the handmade.
Do you utilize Fair Trade practices?
We couldn’t do business without them. Perhaps like you, we are only comfortable knowing that the people behind what we do are comfortable too. Our team is small, but important to everything we do. They are our collaborators, our cutters, our prototypers, our sewers, our packers, our eyes, our hand. We pair fair wages, visit the workshop about once a week. We are on site for production and final quality control. We enjoy our team and can be known to have long talks about the state of the world and share breakfast.
What kind of materials do you use and where do they come from?
We like to keep our transportation footprint light, so sourcing locally is great fun for us and good for the environment too. We scour the Marrakech & Casablanca marketplace for the materials that go into our product line.
Our fabrics
Most of our printed fabrics, cotton poplins, are reclaimed remnants left over from large factories in Marrakech and Casablanca. Co-founder Julie Klear heads out to the Souks to hand choose each print carefully. Our brushed cotton flannel is produced either in Italy or France and available locally. This fabric is traditionally used to make the long iconic djellabas that Moroccan men and women wear.
Our fillings
In our Poofs, we use 100% recycled cotton. To keep your filling fresh, once a week give your cushion or poof a good fluffing. We use polyfil inside our Animal Cushions, Blocks and Dolls.
Stock
Products listed on this website are in stock and ready to ship from our warehouse in Connecticut. Should an item go out of stock, we will call or send an email to let you know the estimated delivery date. Regular orders will ship within 1-2 business days.

All the sizes of our products are listed in inches.
One of a Kind Fabrics
We use a great deal of reclaimed & recycled fabrics in our line making these products one of a kind. The item you receive might not match exactly as the product photo.
Forms of Payment
We accept major credit cards: MasterCard and Visa. At this time we do not accept American Express or personal checks.
Our shopping cart uses LinkPoint which features SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption when transmitting certain kinds of information, such as financial services information or payment information. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the bottom of most browser windows during SSL transactions that involve credit cards and other forms of payment. Any time LinkPoint asks for a credit card number during checkout for payment, it will be SSL encrypted. We do not keep your credit card information on file.
Orders ship within 1-2 business days of receipt. Shipping and handling charges for each shipment are calculated by the product weight, size, final destination and method of shipping. We ship via UPS ground unless otherwise indicated. We ship globally but cannot ship to P.O. boxes. Upon placement of order, please check your confirmation email to ensure that the "ship-to-address" is correct. If there is an error, please contact us immediately. Once a package has been shipped, there is a $25 redirect charge should the address need to be changed while the order is in transit.
At the time the package is delivered, international customers may also incur a customs clearance charge as well as local and country-wide taxes which vary, but average around fifteen percent of the total sale. Please contact us at info@zidzid.com with any questions about shipping rates.
Report Damaged Shipment
We take great care in inspecting and packing our products to arrive in perfect condition. If for some reason, your product is damaged, please contact us within 5 business days of receipt of order via email at claims@zidzid.com. We will email you a claims form which must be completed along with photographs of the damaged product. We are unable to process any claim without the completed claim form and accompanying photographs. Please keep the original item and all packing material. Upon receipt and review of the claims materials, we will replace the damaged product at no additional shipping cost. Please note that no damaged product may be returned to us without prior authorization from Zid Zid Kids. Any product returned without our prior authorization will be returned to you at your expense.
Returns & Exchanges
If for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase or would like to make an exchange, please contact us within 7 days from delivery date for a refund or exchange, less shipping. The product must be in its original condition and returned to us in the original packing. Please email returns@zidzid.com for a return authorization prior to shipping the item back to us. All costs for return shipment are the responsibility of the customer. Please pack the item well and insure it for the full amount. We recommend shipping via UPS or FedEx in order to be able to track the package. We are not responsible for lost packages. If you received a gift, your gift will be refunded for a store credit or the amount will be applied to the purchaser’s credit card. We do not offer cash refunds on gift purchases. All sales items are final and non-refundable.
Cancellation Policy
Orders must be canceled within 24 hours. Please contact us at orders@zidzid.com to cancel your order.
Safety
Zid Zid Kids will never sell, loan, rent or distribute any personal information to third parties under any circumstance, including the contact information of those who subscribe to our mailing list. We may notify you by email about special offers, events and products we think you would want to hear about. If you do not wish to receive our newsletter and announcements, please contact us at info@zidzid.com or click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email when you receive it.
